Nuggets, Concerns, & Inspirations ( Page 2 )

May 25, 2021

You never know when an opportunity comes your way to do an act of kindness.  You just may be someone's real live angel.  Just a smile or holding a door for someone may be what that person needs for them to know that someone cares.  Don't ever hesitate to be kind even when you may feel down or depressed.

"Kind" is a four-letter word that is never expressed enough.  Not only should we be kind to others, be kind to yourself.  We can be our own worst enemy.  We can be so hard on ourselves.

Love yourself.  We all have wonderful qualities.  We just choose not to see them sometimes.  By loving yourself, you can more effectively  love others.  Kindness to others will come automatically.  We are all God's children.  He loves us so that we can love others and be kind to them.

                                         PAY IT FOWARD!!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU WONDERFUL MOTHERS !!

Whether you gave birth, were a step Mother,  foster Mother , or comforting Mother, you have been important in someone's life.  Enjoy  your Special Day!!!!!

May 9, 2021

If you are an average person, as most of us are, we waste time.  We have to have some down time and some relaxing time, but most of us do waste time.  We can make up all kind of excuses, but EVERY DAY IS A NEW BEGINNING.  We can make better use of our time and accomplish more than we do now.

If I really want to accomplish many things in a day, I make a list the night before or first thing in the morning.  As I accomplish a job, it is very satisfying to cross it off the list.  Then on to the next item on the list.  It's not in my mind and /or body to do this every day,  but I do this a few times a week.  This was very effective when I had small kids.  Then there is so much going on in our lives that it is hard to remember everything.

Do yourself a favor and do whatever you need to do to make your life easier and more satisfying.  Life can be much shorter than we can ever imagine.  BE  GOOD TO YOURSELF.

April 30, 2021

Remember the song "O What a Beautiful Morning?"   Waking up each morning IS a beautiful day.  We need to be thankful for a good night's sleep and the fact that God has given us another day to enjoy.

If we have had a good night's sleep in a bed and in our home, we should be so grateful and pass that thought of happiness on to another person.  Our lives may not be perfect, and most likely they aren't, but just be thankful for the good things that we get to experience each day.

Even though smiles are not easy to see now with masks on, just give a wave to a stranger, or do a good deed for someone.  Play your gratefulness forward.  HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!!

             A TEAR

     A tear in the night

     just doesn't seem right.

     Thoughts that pass our minds

and not understood, are just temporary.

     The morning will be bright

      with God's given light.

Just trusting in God for His guidance

      will lead us to understanding.

Though at times we are not meant to understand.

That's when our faith is tested.

God never gives us more than we can handle.

Now we pray and our spirits become a candle.

Our nights become light with tears out of sight.

     The morning will be bright

      with God's given light.

Relationships don't always go as smoothly as we would like.  The door slams in our face and we wonder if it will ever open again.  It may be months or years before we see any progress, but then a crack in the door appears and gives us hope.   We have some hope that a relationship or friendship still has a chance of healing.

We tread carefully in rebuilding and trusting again.  Our response is like walking on eggshells, because we don't want to get hurt again.  The door opens a little more.  We become more comfortable with communicating and a little more relaxed.

The healing can happen.  We have to just take it slow and let God guide the process.  Maybe the door closing gives us more time to think and to clear our minds.  We grow and mature in the process.

We all go through these challenging times.  It's part of growing and becoming more understanding.  Not only will the door open, but the sun will shine through brighter than ever.  Be willing to look through the door.    It will be worth it.

March 12, 2021

We have a tendency to think about the things that we don't do well.  We judge ourselves harshly and sometimes dwell on negativity in our lives.

You know, we may not see the positive at first, but we DO so many things well.  We just don't give ourselves the credit that we deserve.  Your efforts are always better than you think.  Give yourself the credit you deserve and feel good about yourself.

Just look in the mirror and study what God has given you.  We are all beautiful in our own way.  God doesn't make mistakes.  Learn to love yourself and your actions.  Be kind to yourself and that kindness will automatically flow to others.

Adversity---according to Merriam Webster, "is a state or instance of serious or continued difficulty or misfortune. "

Most of us have faced adversity at some point in our life.  If you haven't, count yourself extremely lucky.

I feel obligated to let my readers know about the adversity that I am facing now.  I have been diagnosed with a rare disease.  It is called IPF or Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.  It was not easy at first to accept, but I have to fight.  I am determined to fight as hard as I can.  There has only been medication for this disease since 2014.  But I have been accepted into a medical study of this disease and new medication.

The point to be made here is that the inspirer sometimes needs to be inspired also.  My friends are here for me and I won't hesitate to ask for help when I need it.  Right now, I have very little and almost no trouble at all.  I can conquer this and you will have to fight any adversity that happens to you.  We just have to STAY STRONG.

February 22, 2021

Our life is sometimes like a carousel.  We go round and round in circles hoping to get off at some point and relax and take a break.  Sometimes the carousel goes slow and we imagine that it will soon stop and we can get off.  No, as we were stepping off, it starts up again.  Round and round we go.  Fix breakfast, get the kids off to school, take the trash out, plan what we will have for dinner.  We get ourselves dressed and ready for the day or to go to work.  What appointments do we have today?  Practice for the kids.  Stop at the store and do laundry when we get home.  It goes on, faster and faster.

We have to pick and choose.  We can't do it all and we can't be everywhere for everyone.  We have to prioritize.  I know that sounds impossible and unattainable with all that there is to do.  The sooner that we are able to understand and accomplish this, the smoother and longer our life will be.

I realize now that my family DIDN'T care if the trash was taken out.  They  DIDN'T care if all their laundry was done.  They DIDN'T care if they just had a quick meal.  They DID care if I was there to listen to them or wipe their tears away.  They DID care if I was there to comfort them.  They DID care if I was just there.

BE THERE.  Don't let yourself be caught up on that carousel.  Life is too short and the time that your kids are at home goes so fast.  BE KIND AND BE GENTLE TO YOURSELF.

February 13, 2021

We all have weeks that are very upsetting.  I have had one of those weeks.  Three deaths, close to me --one very tragic.  A diagnosis for me, that of right now, is termed incurable.  (I was accepted into a study of the disease, which I am so grateful for.)  This could help others and myself.

What I am saying is, we all have tragedies in our life at some point.  We just handle them the best that we know how and trust God to guide us.

There is a reason for everything in life.  We don't know the reason or the answer, but it will be revealed at the right time.  STAY POSITIVE.

(Check out the Odds and Ends page.)

January31, 2021

Are you going stir-crazy yet during this pandemic?  Staying in as often as we can is quite taxing.  Reading books, doing puzzles, cleaning cabinets and closets, cooking, and EATING---is getting old and affecting us all.

We all just have to do our part in making sure that ourselves and our family stay safe.  There are still people who feel that Covid-19 is not real.  Just talk to those who have had it or people who have lost family or friends to this virus.  IT IS REAL AND SERIOUS.  People are dying all over the world and new strains of the virus are being detected now.

There have been mistakes made in distributing the vaccine, and yes, it is almost impossible to get a shot.  Getting the shot is almost like people fighting over toilet paper.  I am waiting, somewhat patiently, for an appointment.  My time will come.  In the meantime, wear your mask, practice social distancing, and stay home as much as you can.  We are all in this together.

January 24, 2021

Too often we spend our time telling ourselves about our flaws.   We don't like our hair.  We don't like our eyes and nose.  We don't like our body---period.

You know, you have many attributes, but we tend not to think about those as much.  Make a list for yourself.  Draw a line down the center of a piece of paper.  On one side, list the flaws that you think you have.  On the other side, list the good things that you like about yourself, and don't forget to list all the things that you do for others.

God doesn't make mistakes.  You are beautiful and worthy of  everything good.  At times it is hard to think positive, especially in these times of unrest and COVID-19.  Take time for yourself and assess  yourself.  You are a WONDERFUL, and WORTHY, and BEAUTIFUL person.  Remember, God designed you just the way He wanted you.

                                GOD DOESN'T MAKE MISTAKES

January 10, 2021

Have you had a person who you thought was a friend, and all of a sudden, they don't return your calls or come by to see you?  You wonder if you did something or said something that has turned them away.

You know, God sometimes removes a person from your life to protect you.  You may not see the reason for it, but HE does.  Don't chase after them.  You are being protected.  I know it's an old cliché, but when one door closes, another one opens.  Another friend or situation will come into your life that will be better, and better for you.

We can't and don't understand why certain events happen, but be willing to accept them and have confidence in yourself to handle whatever comes your way.  YOU CAN DO THIS.

January 4, 2021

I decided that I needed to share something that I wrote a couple of months ago.  Enjoy and think of your own blessings.

Dear Father in heaven,

I am most thankful for you.  You are always there for me.

I am thankful for my son and daughter and my grandchildren. My gifts           from heaven.

I am thankful for Robert.  He is so gentle and kind and has brought out         the best in me.

I am thankful for my home.  Not everyone has a home.

I am thankful for my health.  There have been setbacks, but I am still              going and have my senses.

I am thankful for my freedom.  Not everyone in the world can say that.

I am thankful for my friends.  You have brought many great people into         my life.

I am thankful for my Taffy.  She loves me unconditionally and is                     always  near.

I am thankful for my freedom of worship.  So many people don't have           that freedom.

I am thankful for the beautiful weather that I get to experience.

I am thankful that I always have food to eat.  There are starving people         in the world.

I am thankful for all the possibilities you have given me.  I just have to            listen to your voice.

I am just so thankful.

January 3, 2021

A new year has been given to us to accomplish new dreams and adventures.  Let's think positive as to how we can make 2021 better.

2020 has been difficult for so many.  We didn't see this catastrophe coming.  We weren't prepared nor did we contemplate this happening.  Who would have even thought the the norm would be to wear masks when shopping or banking and distance ourselves from other people--no hugging or shaking hands?

Until this pandemic comes to an end, do your part by only going out when necessary, always wear your mask when around people and always distance yourself.  We all have to do our part.  Our gestures may seem insignificant, but if everyone would be as diligent, we could save lives AND protect ourselves.

There will always be someone who doesn't comply or care about the people around them, but if we do our part in protecting, a life just might be saved.

Here's wishing you a safe and healthy New Year!!!

December 23, 2020

For those of you who celebrate this time of year, I wish you all the very best.  This Holiday season will be different from any other we have experienced and we hope that there won't be another one like this.  It's sad when you have to tell family not to come over.  But, you know, it's not the end of the world.  Plan a celebration in July or August or whenever you can get together.

In the meantime, stay home and stay healthy.  We know that we are not the only ones going through this unusual time.  Let's do this together and hope for a better 2021.

Wishing you the very best and please remember the real reason for Christmas--THE BIRTH OF JESUS.

December 20, 2020

At the beginning of this COVID-19 issue, my nine-year-old granddaughter made a statement to me that I will always remember.  She said, "yes the stores and restaurants and other business are closed, BUT HOPE IS NEVER CLOSED. How beautiful--out of the mouths of babes.  Some people have given up hope and some people have become stronger.  People have given of themselves--time, money, support, encouragement, and love.

There are a lot of positives during this pandemic, too many to list.  If you are one of the lucky people to still have a job, home, and food to eat, do what you can to be there and help someone else.  We will make it through this rough time.  Remember--HOPE IS NEVER CLOSED.

God bless you and He will help you to be a blessing to someone else.

December 12, 2020

As I was putting Christmas decorations and a few gifts together, I thought about life and how we sometimes struggle to put things together.  If we look back on our life, we can see that we have always been "putting" together.

Our education, friends, jobs, relationships, feelings and our surroundings, are just a few of the events we have tried to put together over the years.  Some of these endeavors have been easy and successful, while others have been stressful and unsuccessful.

Our lives are not meant to be perfect.  We are going to have challenges and disappointments.  Life is not always going to be easy -- just look at the world and what it is going through right now.

Just breath and try to relax and except the fact that "this too shall pass."  We may not be smiling now as we are "putting" things and our life together, but smiles and rainbows are just around the corner.

                                          STAY STRONG !!

November 29, 2020

The Holiday season seems to be more difficult this year.  Not only  do we have COVID-19 to deal with, but so many people don't have jobs or food to eat, or homes, and are feeling the pressure of the Holidays.  They may not even be thinking about the Holidays.  They are just trying to survive.

Count your blessings if you are not dealing with these situations.  Try to help someone who is struggling.  We can still celebrate the true meaning of Christmas and help someone in need.  Do less for your family and more for others.  We all have to be careful as to where we donate items or send money, but don't let this stop you from helping.  Check out local originations, nursing homes, and people who are helping the needy.

This is a different and unusual year.  THIS IS REAL.  Do what you can--even though different.  You will be blessed and feel great, even if you can only do a little. It doesn't have to be a big endeavor.   THINK OF OTHERS.

November 26, 2020

If you are in an area that celebrates Thanksgiving today--Happy Thanksgiving!!!  Whether you celebrate today or not, take some time to remember what you are thankful for.  This year hasn't been easy, but we still have at least one thing that we can be thankful for.

I have just compiled a list to remind me of all my blessings.  Maybe this is something that you can do also.  Reading this often will remind me that life is still good.  God Bless.

November 9, 2020

Maybe you have noticed--life is like alphabet soup, or as Forrest Gump said, "a box of chocolates."  You never know what you're going to get.

2020 has been a year of new records set and of many challenges.

We have had many new experiences with jobs, paying bills, our homes, our next meal, and most of all, health issues.  Political unrest is at a high and many people are expressing themselves in destructive and harmful ways. Our weather, and especially storms and floods, have been unsteady all over the world.  We never know what we are going to get next or be faced with.

This is when our faith, however you believe, should be the strongest.  We will get through this.  We will be stronger.

Just remember alphabet soup or a box of chocolates--we never know what we may get, but WE CAN HANDLE IT.

October 25, 2020

Do you know someone who is always negative about most situations?  We have used the term--"their glass is always half empty."  You know, their glass may be half empty, but they now have the great opportunity to "fill their glass back up."

Maybe  by encouraging them and being positive ourselves, we can guide them to "filling the glass back up."  A lot of people have reasons to be discouraged and feeling down with everything that is going on right  now in the world.  I have found though, that if we try, we can find something good in almost everything.

Encourage those around you.  You just might be able to help someone through this dark time and brighten the day for them.  They may even fill their glass back up.

October 22, 2020

There is so much unrest in the country now.  Not only do we have disagreements and riots, we have a pandemic and unemployment and hunger and homelessness, and in some countries--electionsSome people have forgotten about kindness, loving one another and helping wherever they are needed. and most of all--being smart and sensible.

Yes, this is a hard time in our country, but this is the time to improve yourself and also think about others.  What is best for our country?  Do what you can to be available for your family, friends, and neighbors.  We have to social distance and wear masks, but still we can make phone calls and send notes and maybe donate to a worthy cause.  We can do our part to help this country to get back on its feet.

YOU ARE SO IMPORTANT TO YOUR FANILY AND OUR COUNTRY'S SUCCESS.  You are blessed.  Make someone else feel blessed also.

October 10, 2020

What a beautiful day we have been given.  Now let's do something positive with it.  Sitting here right now, I don't know what I am going to do yet, but I want to make someone else's day happy.  With the pandemic we are limited as to what we can do.  We can always text or call a friend though.  If you know someone in the hospital or a nursing home, they most likely can't see friends in person.  Give them a call and let them know that they are being thought of and tell them that they are in your prayers.

Consider sitting down at the computer and putting your feelings down on paper.  It is so therapeutic to see your thoughts.  Don't look at the screen, just type. (Yes, I just hunt and peck.  You don't have to be a perfect typist.)  If you can't find something to do for someone else, do something for yourself.  MAKE this a BEAUTIFUL DAY!

October 3, 2020

We have to stay positive. We have so much to accomplish yet.  We can't let a virus define us or hamper us in what we want the future to hold.  Covid-19 is a bump in the road.  Understandably people are getting restless and want to ignore some steps for their safety and ours.  Think of others -- PROTECT AND RESPECT.

This situation may be a quiet time for us to reflect and to think about the future.  What are our dreams and hopes?  We have worked hard to reach our goal.  Don't give up because of this "bump."   We can help others.  I heard a song the other day that was written about Covid-19.  It is so appropriate and sums up what the world should do.  WHEN YOU CAN'T DO WHAT YOU DO, DO WHAT YOU CAN by Jon Bon Jovi.   Do what you can.

September 18, 2020

Life happens.  Every day we have obstacles that confront us.  Are these obstacles "stumbling blocks" or "stepping stones?"  How we react to these obstacles determines our mental and/or physical outlook.

At times some events seem insurmountable.  It seems impossible to have a solution.  You have to take care of yourself first.  Just concentrating on yourself gives you a healthier outlook on how to solve a problem.

DON'T BE AFRAID TO BE HAPPY.  Don't  be afraid to talk to other people you trust.  It is written, " there is wisdom in many councilors."  You just might receive the advice you need to understand how to handle your obstacle.  This just might be a "stepping stone" for you.

September 3, 2020

In this time of uncertainty, I heard someone say "if you can't find the light in your life---make the light."  There is sunshine to be had in everything.  We just don't always see it.

We are going through a very difficult time with COVID-19.  There is a lot of negativity in the world.  And then, add to that, all of the political comments.  2020 will be a year remembered, but I am afraid not all of it will be good.

Sunshine for me has been going to our community swimming pool two or three times a week.  I go in the morning when there are only a few people there.  We keep our distance from each other and have light conversation.  I have met new and interesting friends.  New books have been published to read.  Puzzles are a nice distraction.  We can make our sunshine happen.  We WILL make the best of this situation.  Life probably will never be the same as before, but maybe the "new" will be even better.

August 22, 2020

LIFE HAPPENS.  Happenings in life are like people.  There are some big happenings, there are small happenings, and most of all some unique happenings.  Just like our physical body, we can only control so much of what happens in our life.  We have no control over our height or race or the color of our eyes or hair.

We do, however, have control over our actions and how we succeed in life.  During this Pandemic, we may have doubts as to where we should go with our life.  Maybe now is the time to reflect and contemplate on our life and how we can become a more successful and better person

We all have doubts and concerns at this time of confusion, but we can take time to look at our lives and find at least one area that we can improve on.  Maybe it is to give a small amount of money or food to a homeless person.  Call someone to see how they are doing.  Send a card to someone who is completely home bound.  They will feel better and so will you.  WE CAN DO THIS.

August 9, 2020

Being human is not easy.  People expect you to read their mind or to understand what they are saying even when it doesn't make sense.  Patience is not a virtue and especially at this time when so many are concerned about their own situation.  Many people are out of work and the number of homeless people is growing at a record pace.

We have to be a good example, at least be the best human that we can be.  Show patience and concern and help where we can.  Even if it is only a phone call to a shut in or taking a small amount of food to a food bank.

We all can help in some way.  We CAN be a good human and we will get through this Pandemic.  TRUST IN GOD.  We can't solve all the world's problems, but God can.

August 1, 2020

Is your patience running thin?  This is not an easy time that we are experiencing.  This COVID-19 and Black Lives Matter movement has brought out the best in some people, but the worst in others.  We are witnessing the destruction of history and the destruction of lives and the collapsing of businesses.  We are seeing freedoms challenged..

We can't always  control what is going on in our world, but we can control ourselves.  It has been said that today's issues aren't being handled right .  No one knows what "right"  is, because we haven't had this happening in our lifetime before.  We must follow guidelines and protect ourselves, but not at the cost of other people's lives.

Do what you can to stay safe.  This too shall pass.  It may be a few months yet, but we can do this.  FIND YOUR STRENGTH.

July 21, 2020

Some people build bridges to friendships.  Some people build bridges to relationships.  Some people build bridges to advance their career.  Then there are those people who build bridges to "nowhere."

There are so many that start building a bridge, then quit.  They never finish what they started.  They never experience the fulfillment of completing something.

I will admit that in a relationship, sometimes you have to build seventy five percent of the bridge and you wait for the other person to build the rest and complete the relationship.  It should be fifty fifty, but that's not always the case.

I guess what I am saying is---build your own bridge, no matter if you have to do it by yourself.  You have the ability to do this.  Don't let anyone tell you differently.  You will feel satisfied with the knowledge that you did it yourself.  God will help you do this.

July 11, 2020

You have so much to look forward to.  Imagination can become reality.  Yes, we are going through a really rough time in our world and possibly in our personal life, but in our quiet times and this down time, let's think of what can be done and what we can do to move our life forward.  We have time to think now.  Let's make the most of it.

Maybe you can put your thoughts on paper.  So many people are inspired by other people and their experiences.  I never realized this until I received the comments from my book that I received.  Maybe you have been dreaming of how you can help other people.  Most of us have phones or computers or even paper and envelopes.  Spend a few minutes getting in contact with someone else.  Make someone else's dream a reality and in the process, make yourself feel better.

In all that is going on in the world:  read Psalm 91 (GNT).  It not only is a wonderful promise, but a great comfort. Take care and stay safe.

July 1, 2020

Hopefully this finds you all doing well.  This is a most unusual and stressful time for all of us.

If you know of someone who needs some inspiration or comfort in these times,  maybe my book can help in some way.  It is on sale right now from Amazon.  .

Take care of yourself and your family and stay safe.

June 28, 2020

We have all had emotional and/or physical scars.  We haven't lived life if we don't have some.

Did you know that scar tissue is tougher than regular tissue?  We may have scars and healing takes time, but we can learn from these scars and be tougher and more informed because of them.  Knowledge is power when it comes to avoiding scars or dealing with them.

No one and nothing guarantee that we won't make the same mistake again, but we can be better prepared and tough through the situation because we have been through the experience before.  We have the scars to prove it.

June 21, 2020

I hope that everyone is doing okay.  Stress is bound to be present in everyone's life.  This is a difficult time for most.  People in nursing homes and assisted living facilities are not always able to understand why family and friends can't visit them.  Parents are now realizing what teachers experience each day.  People have lost jobs and concern builds as to how they will pay bills and worries about losing their home and providing for their families is always on their mind.

Each one of us must do all we can do to stay healthy.  I went to the grocery this morning.  Many people are not adhering to the signs as to which direction they should go. So many people are not wearing masks.  I don't consider myself a germaphobe, but let's be reasonable;  we must protect ourselves and others.  This too shall pass. (The sooner the better. LOL)

June 8, 2020

In this time of unrest, some people are not thinking of the consequences of their actions.  They don't seem to be thinking for themselves, rather they are followers.  We have enough of a problem just dealing with covid 19.  People are taking their anger out on anything that comes along.  How does someone think that defacing objects and looting and shootings will solve anything or better our country.

I just want people to THINK.  How will their actions effect their families, jobs, and society?

Sometimes just dealing with our own problems and situations is enough for us to handle.  I am not saying that we should hide and ignore what is going on around us, but just THINK.

How are you all surviving the Quarantine? This is a difficult time for all of us.  We all have to do our part in staying healthy and keeping other people healthy.  Our life, as we knew it, will most likely never be the same.  People are feeling devastation and hunger as if we were at war.  Well, I guess we are at war---with a virus.

I don't have an answer for ridding our world of the virus, but we must do whatever we can by following suggested rules and adapt new habits.  The more precautions that we all take can only be beneficial in getting our world back to operating somewhat normal.

Do whatever you can to stay healthy.  Even if our lifestyle needs to change, maybe we will find a new and better life.  If we spend more time with our children and enjoy and become closer to family and friends, this is a time to grow and prosper as a person.  COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS.  Believe it or not, we do have many blessings even in this difficult time.  Take care

We are making History, just not in the best way right now.  I do think that the situation we are in is bringing so many people closer together.  People are helping each other to survive, now more than ever.  Parents are able to spend more time with their children.  We seem to have a common goal---to survive.

Maybe there will be some good come out of all of this.  People may realize that they have to save money in case of a bizarre happening.  People may want to be closer to their family and get to really know them better.  At some point, some of us have gotten so caught up in our own lives, to really get connected to others.

Take this precious time to really count your blessings and reassess your goals.  Grab on to the future.  Just remember---GOD HAS A PLAN.  Put your trust in Him.

Being a friend at this time of uncertainty is such a commodity.  We don't have to have physical contact with someone to be a friend.  A phone call or a greeting from a distance is a great gesture.  Being concerned for family and neighbors can just be a circle of kindness.

I have met neighbors by just sitting in our driveways.  They are so nice and would do anything for each other.  What a blessing.  There is so much "bad" that is happening right now.  It's hard to be positive, but count your blessings.  There is always something good that comes out of every situation.  We may not know what that is right now, but God has a plan.  We just have to stay safe and positive.

Are you a flower just budding and you are waiting to bloom?  You have so much to look forward to.  Even if your petals open slowly, when you are in full bloom, you will be unstoppable.  You can hope and dream of many things.  It can all come true, just don't give up.  Keep reaching for the stars.

We all go through times of doubt and discouragement, but just remember that God didn't make any mistakes.  He will help you reach your goals.  Just keep reaching.  At any age, WE CAN DO THIS.  You will blossom into a flower and you will be beautiful.

We are all going through trying times and many life changes right now.  I would like for everyone reading this to go to this website and read The "Desiderata Poem."

       It is---https://allpoetry.com/Desiderata

        It is by Max Ehrmann

I have a copy of this hanging in my home.  It is beautiful

The world is in an historic circumstance right now.  Things are tough for most people.  If we look around there is someone who is having more problems and difficulties than we are.  We have to stay safe and focused.  We WILL get through this.  There is so much to look forward to even if it doesn't seem possible at the present time.  Find something that will inspire you and your family.

Our world will never be the same as we have known it in the past, but contemplate the new possibilities.  You may be more innovative now than you have ever been before.  This is a small example.  The other day I decided to see what was in my cabinet.  I used some can goods, some ground beef from the freezer and part of an onion that was left from the day before, and it was so good that I will fix this again.

This is a time to read, play games with the kids, clean out cabinets and closets, spend alone time together.  Use this time to re-connect with your family--TALK.  Hopefully we will never experience a time like this again in our lifetime.  Take advantage of this time now.

                                    STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY.

April 7, 2020

Anxiety is so much a part of our lives right now.  This Coronavirus has taken us all by surprise.  Our lives have changed in ways we never anticipated.

I hope that you are all taking the advice that is being passed on to us, but we have to do our own thinking also.  Yes, I could go out to the store, but the fact is, I don't really need to so I will be staying home.  At some point I may have some things delivered to me, but as a senior I'm not sure that is even safe for me.

We may need to sacrifice some and we may not have had to do that before.  Is that so hard to do?  This whole experience may be an eye opener for several of us.  We have not seen a situation like this before in our lifetime.

We don't what it is, but God has a plan.  We just have to trust in Him and His wisdom.

March 27, 2020

Hopefully everyone is doing well in this difficult time.  The corona virus too shall pass, and soon we hope.  We are all being challenged with events and happenings that we have never been through before.  We are from different regions of the world and must listen to authority and hope that the right decisions are being made.

If we can help family or a neighbor in some way, we must give of ourselves, but in a manor that keeps us all safe.  We will get through this.

I wanted to address something that happened to me this week.  Hopefully it will bring this incident to someone's attention so that it  doesn't happen to them.

I did go out to the store to get some food.  In parking, my foot slipped off the brake, and got caught between the brake and accelerator.  The car accelerated and went over a curb and hit a sign.  Thank the Lord, no one was standing there and there was no car close.  I am fine, but the car has damage.  The car can be fixed.  I am just so thankful that no one was hurt.

Be aware that this can happen.  Just be careful and stay safe.

March 22, 2020

I hope this finds everyone doing as well as possible.  This is a tough time for all of us.  We are seeing changes and events in our lives like we have never seen before.  We look around and see tragedies, but at the same time we are seeing people stepping up and doing acts of kindness and watching out for each other.

This is all happening for a reason.  So much we don't understand, but maybe we are more aware now of saving and not going into debt and being as healthy as possible.  Maybe we are more aware of our family  and situations that we couldn't be bothered with before.  Hopefully we are doing a self-assessment about what to do and what we should do with our lives.

Look inside yourself and examine yourself.  There may just be something new to discover.  Most of all, TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.  If you don't take care of yourself, you won't be good for anyone.

March 18, 2020

Hopefully this finds everyone healthy and taking all precautions against the COVID-19 virus.  We don't know the dynamics of this yet and we may never know.  Just heed warnings and do your part in not contracting it or passing it on.  I have three C'S for you to keep in mind.

                      1.  Stay CALM.

                      2.  CO-OPERATE with advice and warnings.

                     3. COMMUNICATE with friends and family so that they know                            what is happening with you.

We find ourselves in a situation that we have never experienced before.  I went to the store this morning to be there when it opened hoping to avoid a rush of people.  Well that didn't work. There were about seventy-five people waiting also.  When the store doors opened, it was chaos.

This is not the time to panic. Yes, we have to be careful, but reasonable.  Remember the three C'S and remember that God is in control.

March 14, 2020

I am writing this to vent, but also to remind everyone the importance of turn signals on your car.  The turn signals are there for a reason.  Why do some people choose not to us them?  It's not only a courtesy to use them, but also the law.

I just almost had a accident because of an oncoming car that didn't use their turn signals and then a car in front of me had their right turn signal on, but turned left.  Traffic is very heavy in my area at this time of year, but I feel that this is even more of a reason to use the turn signals.

We just have to be a defensive driver at all times, because some people will never change.  Do your best.  Remember the Golden Rule----Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  And remember ALWAYS  BUCKLE UP.

March 6, 2020

Sometimes we need to be reminded that the person who we are talking to doesn't necessarily know everything about a topic or what they are even talking about.  They talk to be heard.  Maybe they are needing the attention or acceptability from other people.

I try to listen to them and maybe even make a comment, but they continue on with their talking.  How do we deal with this? I wish that I had the perfect response.  I feel that we must listen though, smile, and say "whatever you think."  We certainly won't change their mind and it could be that we don't really know the subject either.  Then we go to the computer or books and learn.

We are never too old to learn.  Just this week I learned of a diagnosis of something that I have been dealing with since I was a teenager.  It is not life threatening. thank goodness, but at least now I know that there is a name for how I physically feel at times.

We must always think for ourselves, not just listen to other people's comments and view points.

Is anyone else within reading distance preparing for taxes?  I don't know how tax reporting works in other countries, but in the United States, we have to report and declare our taxes by April 15.  Until just a few years ago, I didn't have to be concerned with this information.  Now I do and it has been a real learning experience for me. I would recommend that you equip yourself with this knowledge, just in case you might need to know in the future.

I am still learning.  The laws change and may not be the same year to year.  The lady who does my taxes knows all of the latest information, that is her job.  I learn from her.  My taxes are not too complicated, but I will still have them done by someone who knows all of the changes that might have occurred.

                               Knowledge is power.  Be prepared.

February 18, 2020

Fear.  Do you have any fears?  One of the biggest fears, that I think most of us have, is "the fear of failure."  But failure brings success.  We may try a certain task several times and we may fail, but we learn something each time and with that and patience, we learn and conquer.

Don't be afraid to try.  I committed to a talk at a library.  Speaking in front of people really makes me uncomfortable and frankly scares me.  I made the commitment so that I would go through with it.  Sleepless nights have occurred, but I will conquer this.

At times we just have to put ourselves out there.  Do the very thing that we fear.  It does get easier with practice, at least that is what I believe.  I still won't go bungee jumping though.  LOL

February 13, 2020

Let's look at an egg. To stay inside our egg is safe. It is warm cozy and comfortable, but where do we go----nowhere.

We must tap out of our egg just like a baby chick. The chick escapes its warm environment in order to free itself and explore life. The chick doesn't know what the future holds, but it's going to free itself anyway.

We must be willing to see what the future holds for us. It is scary to jump into the unknown, but there just might be something wonderful waiting for us to witness. Sometimes we just have to take a chance. BE DARING.

February 4, 2020

I've learned a lot, but there is a lot that I've got to learn yet. Life has given me experiences that I have gotten so much knowledge from. Some people never learn. They look at something happening to them as a personal attack and never take away the possible knowledge.

We learn from experience, some good and some bad. But , we should always learn. We can never predict what is going to happen. The unknown is part of out protection, but whatever we experience---we should learn from it.

Always be willing to experience life and what it contains. God has a plan.
